Grizzlies split week with loss, win

RIVERSIDE – The Newport Grizzlies’ boys’ soccer team split last week between a 2-1 victory over the Riverside Rams and a 3-0 loss to Northwest Christian. Noah Crabtree scored the go-ahead goal in overtime and the visiting Grizzlies (1-7-0) defeated the Rams (0-5-0) in a nonleague game on Thursday, April Mads Willhelm scored for Riverside.

The visiting Northwest Christian Crusaders defeated the Grizzlies 3-0 in a Northeast 2B North game on Tuesday, March 31. Newport will play after spring break at home against Colville Tuesday, April 14 at 4 p.m.
