NEWPORT – There will be two blood drives this month in Newport, with the first one Tuesday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the bus in the Newport Community Hospital parking lot located at 714 Pine St.
The second one is Thursday, April 23, 1-5:30 p.m., on the bus in the WAFd Bank parking lot, 224 S.
Washington Ave.

Idaho Hill honor roll
OLDTOWN — These are the names of students who made the Idaho Hill Elementary School Honor Roll for third quarter.
Kindergarteners Jack Goss, Emme Wilson, November Vogtman and Jasmine Hobbs; first graders Emma Sherrock, Baker Mattson and Emma Guthrie; second graders Brennley Grove, Finlee Powers, Willow Speed, Haley McDaniel and August Carlson; third graders Ayla Dahl, Carson Guthrie, Hannah Ogle and Ivey Snow; fourth graders Easton Hannah and Lucy Goss; fifth grader Jude Vincent and sixth graders Aspyn Butler, Scott Correia, Florence Preston, Zaden Sevy, Addison Stoffels and Don Winterfield all made the honor roll.
Man airlifted following DUI wreck
USK – Gabriel S. Rex, 22, of Miles City, Montana was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center Sunday, April 5, about 6 p.m. after the 1989 Ford Thunderbird he was driving collided with a 2016 Toyota Sienna driven by Shanda D. Pienkham, 33, of Usk two mile south of Cusick.
Pienkam and her passenger, Lance Pienkham, 34, of Usk were transported by a private party to the Newport hospital. Two juveniles, 8 and 11, in the Toyota were not injured.
According to a Washington State Patrol Press Memo, Pienkham was traveling west on Highway 20 and was stopped to turn left on to Beeman Road. Rex was also traveling west on Highway 20 and stuck the Toyota from behind.
Rex, who was the only one in the Thunderbird, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, according to the WSP press memo.
