Sign up for fishing tournament fundraiser

PRIEST RIVER — The third Annual Priest River Lamanna High School Student Council Fundraiser Fishing Tournament is from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 2.

The tournament takes place at Chase, Freeman and Cocolalla lakes.

Online sign-up is now through Friday, May 1.

Prizes will be awarded for biggest fish (by weight) and three fish combined weight (fish can be same or different species). Northern Pike and Northern Pike Minnow are not accepted. Fish weighin will be available at all launching locations from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A list and map of weigh stations will be available at each lake.

Note that each waterway has different access and harvest rules.

Winners will be announced at the Priest River Lamanna High School gym and prizes awarded starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2. If the winner is not there to claim their prize, the prize will be awarded to the next placer, with their prize going to the runner-up, and so on.

Non-student entry fee is $30, West Bonner County School District fee is $15 and the fee for veterans and active-duty military is $25. Fifty percent of the entry fees from the tournament will be put toward money prizes.

The fishing tournament is a fundraiser for Priest River Lamanna High School’s class of 2027. The junior class uses these funds to host events at the high school like dances, prom, pep assemblies and other school culture events.

Volunteers are needed to help manage the tournament and work with the junior class students to help weigh and record the fish weights as well as manage prizes. Contact Alexis Scott at 208661-9024 or scottalex-is580@ gmail.com.
