‘Meet the Candidates’ at Blanchard April 22, 24

BLANCHARD – The Blanchard Community Center will be the site for upcoming ‘Meet the Candidate’ nights. Wednesday, April 22, Bonner County commissioner candidates are invited for an event that takes place from 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 24, candidates for state office are invited to an event that also takes place from 6-9 p.m. The Blanchard Community Center is located at 685 Rusho Lane in Blanchard.

Dems hold candidate forum Saturday

SACHEEN LAKE - The Pend Oreille County Democrats are holding a candidates’ forum Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. at the Sacheen Fire Station. The Sacheen Fire Station is located at 6131 Highway 211. Democratic and Independent candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives’ 5th District seat currently held by Rep. Baumgartner R-Spokane have been invited. Carmela Conroy and David Womack have confirmed their attendance. Nine people are running in the August 4 primary, and the top two will be on the ballot in November. This is one of the first opportunities to meet with candidates locally.

Tea party needs volunteer models

METALINE FALLS — When the Cutter Theatre holds is “Sunday Best Tea Party” Sunday, May 3, part of the afternoon will be a fashion show of “Sunday best” dresses from different eras. The Cutter is looking for six to 10 models, women ages 14 and up to participate. This is a volunteer situation, but lunch will be provided to the volunteer models.

Fittings will happen the last week of April and scheduled to meet the models’ and costumer’s schedules. Costumes will be fitted to the size and age-appropriateness of each model.
