RITZVILLE — The Selkirk High School track and field team were on the road last week, culminating in a good showing at the Undeberg Invitational at Lind-Ritzville High School Saturday, April 25. Senior Jameson Davis won second place in the 400-meter race at 52.97. Sophomore Oscar Dispenza had a personal best (PB) of 4:58.97 in the 1600-meter, earning him sixth place.
He went on to win third in the 3200-meter with another PB at 10:43.59.
Earlier last week, the Rangers had a good showing at the District 6 1B League Meet at Valley Christian High School Tuesday, April 21. Oscar Dispenza won second place in the 3200-meter race, clocking in at 10:52.03.
He also finished seventh in the 800-meter race, earning a PB of 2:26.05. Jameson Davis won first place in the 300-meter hurdles at 45.25. Kaden Strickler was third in the 110-meter hurdles at 19.82. The boys’ 4x400 relay team, Kaden Strickler, Davis, Waite Fisher-Rice and Dispenza won second place with a time of 3:58.76.
The Rangers traveled to Pomeroy for a District 6 1B League Meet Tuesday after the Miner’s weekly deadline.
Coming up, Selkirk competes at the NE 1B Sub-District Qualifier Tuesday, May 12 at Valley Christian School.
