Local student named Soroptimist Girl of May

NEWPORT — The Soroptimists of Newport has announced Megan Lindor as the May 2026 Soroptimist Girl. She is attending Montana State University in the fall to earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing.

“I am pursuing nursing to help others and be a light in dark times in people’s lives,” Lindor wrote in a Soroptimist news release.

She attributes part of her success to her family, specifically her mom and older sister, calling them her anchor.

“I am very thankful for every opportunity that this school and community has brought me,” Lindor wrote.
