Former Newport resident and violinist Sarah Fazendin is currently on the national tour of “The Sound of Music.” Since graduating with her master’s degree from Steinhardt School of Music in New York, she has played with the New York Pops, toured with the Broadway Musical “Fiddler on the Roof,” toured with the pop band “The Wonder Years” and performed with Cirque Musica Holiday. While a teenager, she performed at Pend Oreille Playhouse, sang with Mountain Harmony Show Choir and was the Concert Master for her last two years with the Spokane Youth Orchestra, then again in her last two years with Whitworth Orchestra Symphony. She is the daughter of Kathy and Gerald Fazendin.
