NEWPORT — Create Arts Center hosts a Popeye Rose Social Club concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23.
Darlene Mossman, Jim Pletsch, and Steve Bennett bring original rock, blues, and country music to the stage. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
Tickets are available online. Students are free.
Out of the Box Entertainment will present “The Savannah Sipping Society,” a laugh-a-minute comedy about four unique, middle-aged southern women seeking to escape their stagnant routines, at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 6 and 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7. Tickets in advance are $12 and at the door for $15.
On Saturday, June 13, Bill Moore returns to Create to offer a workshop on rhythm healing from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This will help participants explore their inner artist with science-based rhythm healing. Drums are provided. Moore gave a presentation last summer at Create’s Coffee in the Garden, providing interest, and many requested a return. This workshop is $15 and requires preregistration at Create or online at www. createarts.org.

Mushroom gathering May 23
CUSICK — The Pend Oreille County Library District is hosting morel mushroom gathering Saturday, May 23.
Meet at the Calispel Valley Library at 10 a.m. to caravan to the Tacoma Creek fire site location. The group will return to the library to sort through the morels.
Picking is limited to 3 gallons.
Participants will need a small bucket and a pocketknife; Morels must be cut to be harvested. This will involve steep terrain and long walks. Adults only and no pets. Bring water and good shoes.

PRIEST LAKE — Coming up in May at the Priest Lake Library are several events, all free to the public.
The library will have a booth at the Spring Festival in Coolin Saturday–Sunday, May 23–24. Get information on the summer reading theme and pick up a gently used book.
Junior Program Airplane Day is at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. All supplies are provided.
Dungeons and Dragons is at noon Friday, May 29.
New players are welcome, and no experience is necessary.

Food distribution June 11
NEWPORT — There will be a Second Harvest free food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 11 at the Newport Rodeo Grounds. This is a drive-thru event while supplies last. No appointment or documentation is required. Drivers can access the distribution from Garden Avenue across from 103 Garden Ave.
