NEWPORT — Newport High School seniors Louden and Kole Keogh are headed to the National High School Finals Rodeo after strong performances at the Washington State High School Rodeo Finals last weekend.

Louden Keogh qualified for nationals in both team roping and calf roping.

He placed third in team roping and fifth in calf roping at the state finals, earning a spot among the top high school rodeo competitors in the country.

His brother, Kole Keogh, also secured a trip to nationals after finishing third in bareback riding at the state finals.

The National High School Finals Rodeo is scheduled for July 19-25 in Lincoln, Nebraska, and will feature top qualifiers from across the United States competing for national titles.

For the Keogh brothers, the accomplishment comes during their final year at Newport High School, capping off years of dedication to the sport and countless hours spent training and competing throughout the region.

Now, after reaching the podium at the state level, both athletes will have the opportunity to represent Newport, Washington and their school on one of rodeo’s biggest stages.

The brothers’ success continues a strong tradition of rodeo competition in the area and gives Newport another pair of athletes to cheer for as they prepare for the national spotlight this summer.
