SEATTLE – Pend Oreille County Auditor Marianne Nichols was named Auditor of the Year by Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, when she and her staff attended the Washington State Election Administrators Conference in Seattle.
“The County Auditor of the Year Award recognizes extraordinary leadership, dedication, and service to election administration in Washington State,” Election Director Stuart Holmes said. “This year’s recipient has spent decades serving the public with integrity, wisdom, and a steady commitment to practical, effective election policy. A respected voice in legislative discussions and a trusted member of the Election Administration and Certification Board, they have helped shape elections across our state through both leadership and example since being elected Auditor in 2006. Please join me in congratulating the 2026 County Auditor of the Year, Marianne Nichols of Pend Oreille County.”
