Summer Meals program begins for local kids

PRIEST RIVER — The West Bonner County School District is providing free meals for area children up to 18 years old Monday, June 22 through Friday, Aug. 14. Youth need not be a WBCSD student to participate. Priest River Elementary and Idaho Hill Elementary serve breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Only children eat for free. Parents and guardians are encouraged to accompany their children.

The Newport School District is offering a free summer meal program for children 18 years old and under at Stratton Elementary School, Mondays through Thursdays from Monday, July 6 to Thursday, July 30, with breakfast served from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
