County Weed Board offers aquatic workshop
NEWPORT — Registration is open for the Pend Oreille County Noxious Weed Board’s 2026 Aquatic Life and Property Management Workshop.
Held in partnership with the Pend Oreille County Public Utility District, this workshop is an educational opportunity for aquatic recreationalists and landowners alike.
Expert speakers will identify resources available to waterfront stakeholders for the management of noxious aquatic weeds, while participants will engage in interactive, hands-on demonstrations focused on weed identification, native plant recognition and weed control techniques. Join the Weed Board to learn about shoreline health, property improvements, how to use a bottom barrier for weed control and the importance of aquatic weed management for protecting county waterways. Washington pesticide license holders can also earn credits toward license recertification.
The workshop is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 10 at the Camas Center for Community Wellness, 1821 LeClerc Rd. N. in Cusick. For in-person attendees, registration is required by Wednesday, July 8. An optional lunch is available for $10, with an official count due in advance. Cutter Clutter treasures selling quickly
METALINE FALLS — The treasures available at the Cutter Clutter Rummage Sale are selling quickly.
Running since early June, the Cutter Clutter receives donations every week, requiring even the savviest of buyers to check the Cutter Theatre frequently if they are searching for certain purchases.
The Cutter Clutter is in the lower level of the Cutter Theatre, with items found in the hallway and Artscape Room. New this year is a priced items room, which contains items that are slightly more selective for the regular Clutter sales.
To donate items, visit the Cutter Theatre during regular business hours before dropping anything off. The Cutter Clutter does not accept mattresses, clothing or any items that are in poor or inoperable condition.
