Idaho Trails Association looking for volunteers for trail projects

COEUR D’ALENE – Idaho Trails Association (ITA) is seeking volunteers who love hiking and the outdoors to join trail maintenance projects across north Idaho this summer.

Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome to help maintain and restore Idaho’s incredible trail system while giving back to the public lands they enjoy. No prior experience is necessary; ITA provides all the tools, training and support. Volunteers need a willingness to work and a desire to make a lasting impact on Idaho’s trails.

Timber Mountain – July 1: Volunteers will work on parts of the 20-mile-long Timber Mountain Trail in the Bonners Ferry Ranger District Jackson Creek – July 10-12: This three-day weekend project on the Jackson Creek Trail in the Salmo-Priest Wilderness is part of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail.

Cataract Creek – August 15-16: Volunteers will work on this remote trail for the weekend in the Coeur d’Alene Ranger District near the Coeur d’Alene River.

Halsey Creek – Youth – August 19-23: This five-day youth trail project for ages 14-18 takes place on the Coeur d’Alene Ranger District. Free to sign up and all food is provided.

Trestle Ridge – August 22-23: Volunteers will camp out for a weekend of trail maintenance near Clark Fork, working in the scenic Trestle Drainage on Trestle Ridge Trail.
