In a previous story “Newport sets transportation project priorities,” it was not clarified that the Transportation Improvement Plan enables the city to receive funding for projects from the state Department of Transportation and Transportation Improvement Board, an independent state agency. Projects outlined in the plan are expected to be mostly funded by WSDOT and/or TIB.
