The Resource Team, serving eastern Washington, is now located at the Camden Grange, 7 Camden Rd (corner of Elk-Camden & Allen Road,) Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon. They are information specialists who can help those in need, the elderly, the disabled and those needing financial assistance.
They have many resources and connections to programs designed to help.
For example, there are many options for the elderly or disabled to remain in their home, if they wish. Meals, transportation, in-home care and caregiver support, as well as physical modifications to the home, such as bathroom equipment, or wheelchair ramps can significantly improve the quality of life for them and their families. Programs are available to help with caregiving, information, referrals and answers to questions about Medicare and Medicaid.
Anyone in need of medical equipment, hearing aids, assistance with prescriptions, eyeglasses, help with medical insurance or legal aid can be connected to resources.
If you are caring for relatives’ children, there are many ways to gain assistance and receive support.
Signing up for Washington state workers’ tax credit can add money to families who qualify.
Another important service is connecting those who may be eligible for veteran benefits. Some may think they do not qualify, when, in fact, they do. Some have wrongfully been denied benefits, and can actually qualify, including reimbursements for benefits denied from the time they originally applied.
Many problems people encounter can be reduced or eliminated through connections with the appropriate social service agencies or organizations. There is no charge for this service.
