Wreckage of a plane after it crashed at Sullivan Lake Airport, Monday, July 20 in Pend Oreille County. The pilot came in fast, bounced the plane on landing and attempted a go-around, but density altitude and conditions instead caused him to crash, Fire Chief Christopher Haynes wrote in a Facebook post. While the pilot was uninjured, the rider in a motorcycle crash later that same day was not; at a sharp corner on Highway 20, the rider went down hard, sustaining critical injuries after going through a barbed wire fence. He was Life Flighted to a trauma center and is now stable.
