NEWPORT — Newport Hospital and Health Services (NHHS) has been recognized with three 2026 American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines Rural achievement awards, highlighting the organization’s commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care for patients experiencing heart attack and stroke, according to a press release.
The awards recognize NHHS for consistently following the latest clinical guidelines to improve outcomes for patients in rural communities.
For 2026, NHHS received: • Gold recognition, Get With The Guidelines – Rural Stroke • Silver recognition, Get With The Guidelines –Rural Coronary Artery Disease NSTE-ACS
• Bronze recognition, Get With The Guidelines – Rural Coronary Artery Disease STEMI “These national recognitions demonstrate NHHS’s dedication to delivering timely, evidence- based treatment for patients experiencing heart attack and stroke, ensuring they receive care that aligns with nationally recognized best practices,” the hospital’s press release stated.
“We are honored to receive these recognitions from the American Heart Association,” NHHS CEO Kim Manus said. “These awards reflect the commitment of our physicians, nurses, EMS partners, and clinical staff to providing exceptional care close to home. The American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines program helps hospitals improve patient outcomes by promoting adherence to the latest evidence-based treatment guidelines. Participating hospitals collect and analyze patient care data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement best practices that lead to better outcomes for cardiovascular disease and stroke patients.
