Master Gardeners offering yard art class

NEWPORT — The Washington State University Pend Oreille County Master Gardeners are offering a hands-on Yard Art Class from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 13 at the Extension Office, 227A S. Garden Ave. in Newport.

This creative workshop invites participants to discover the fun of designing art for outdoor spaces while learning practical techniques that can enhance any home garden.

The class will begin at the Extension Office before moving to the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, where each participant will create an individual concrete stepping-stone to take home. Because the class includes outdoor activities, attendees should wear sturdy shoes and dress for potentially messy work.

The registration deadline is Monday, Aug. 10. The cost of the class is $5 per person, which can be paid by cash or check. Class size is limited. All materials will be provided.
