The three-day event began Friday, July 31, with grand entries Friday and Saturday, drumming and dance contests, stick games, a buffalo fun run and Canoe Landing. The weekend took a turn for the worse, however, when three major fires broke out in Spokane County. Festivities at the Pow-Wow grounds were cut short Sunday so attendees could be with friends and family affected by the fires. The Kalispel Tribe donated $50,000 to fire victims Monday.
