Community invited to Boots & Bling fundraiser

NEWPORT — Soroptimist International of Newport has announced its Second Annual Boots & Bling Fundraising Dinner, from 5–9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at Camp Cowles, 4161 N. Shore Diamond Lake Rd.

“We are excited to bring our community together once again for an evening that celebrates generosity while investing in the dreams of women and girls,” representatives of Soroptimist International of Newport said in a news release. “Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, and auction item donated helps create opportunities that change lives.”

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Boots & Bling returns with an evening filled with food, entertainment and opportunities to make a difference in the lives of local women and girls. Guests will enjoy a barbecue dinner prepared by Longhorn BBQ, live music and dancing, a silent auction, raffles and plenty of western flair. Attendees are encouraged to dust off their cowboy boots and favorite bling for a memorable night of fun and philanthropy.

Proceeds from the event will support Soroptimist of Newport’s mission to provide women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Funds raised help provide scholarships, educational awards, mentoring opportunities and programs that empower women and girls throughout Pend Oreille and Bonner Counties.

Tickets are $50 per person and available now. Individuals, businesses and organizations are also invited to support the event through sponsorships beginning at $500. Sponsors receive recognition before and during the event, with additional promotional benefits available at higher sponsorship levels. Community members are also encouraged to donate items or experiences for the silent auction and raffles.
