CUSICK – Washington game wardens are investigating the illegal killing of a black bear in Pend Oreille County. The Department of Fish and Wildlife’s police arm announced on social media late last week that the agency received a report on July 12 of the dead bear, which was found dumped along Trimble Creek and Jewel Road near Conger Lake.

The carcass was missing its paws and head.

WDFW officers believe it was dumped on or around July 10.
