MANCHESTER, N.H. — Southern New Hampshire University congratulates two local students on being named to the Summer 2026 Dean’s List: Hailey Hiebert of Blanchard and Tanyr Hahn of Priest River.
The summer terms run from May to August. Fulltime undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean’s List. Fulltime status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring and summer.
Low-cost spay, neuter clinic Saturday
USK — A low-cost spay and neuter clinic for cats is Saturday, Sept. 19 in Usk, hosted by Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neuter Advocates.
Any cat can be spayed or neutered for only $60, even if the cat is in heat. The non-profit will work with pet owners who need to make payments and financial assistance is available. To make a reservation, call Cindy 509-671-1427 or Tina at 509-710-0626.
Senior center fundraiser Saturday
PRIEST RIVER — The Priest River Senior Center is holding a tri-tip dinner fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 19.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and dinner is 4–6 p.m. Tickets are $25 a piece, and there are only 75 spots available. All proceeds go to senior center improvements.

Brittany Jean makes music at Create
NEWPORT — Folk singer/songwriter Brittany Jean performs at Create Arts Center from 6–8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
Jean currently lives in a little apple town on the Columbia River in Washington. During the past few years, her performances have ventured farther and farther from home, including playing the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee, and opening for Three Dog Night’s sold-out concert in New York City.
Jean has released six studio albums and an EP — all recorded in Music City. And from her sixth album “Colors & Covers,” “Golden Hour,” “Lightfoot” and “Dear Mr. Green” were finalists in the International Acoustic Music Awards. She is currently working on her seventh album.
