NEWPORT — The Live Your Dream award offers cash grants to women or girls seeking financial assistance for educational or training expenses.
Women and girls who work or reside in Pend Oreille or Bonner counties, serve as the primary wage earners for their families and seek financial assistance to continue their education or training are eligible to apply for the Soroptimist Live Your Dream Education and Training Awards.
Applications are available online at http://bit.ly/LYDA-apply or by contacting Live Your Dream Chair Tracy O’Brien at [email protected]. The application deadline is Sunday, Nov. 15. Soroptimist of Newport will provide a $1,000 cash award to its award recipient, who will then advance to the Soroptimist Northwestern Region level, where recipients could receive up to an additional $5,000.
The program culminates with three finalists each receiving a $10,000 award.
Recipients can use the award to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain vocational/skills training or an undergraduate degree program.
