Free Medicare guidance at Hospitality House

NEWPORT — Navigating Medicare and health coverage can feel overwhelming for older adults and their families. To help local residents better understand their options, licensed Medicare advisor Kaley Kunz will offer no-cost weekly guidance at the Hospitality House Senior Center.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 22, Kunz will be available each Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sessions will provide a welcoming place for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to review their current coverage, ask questions and learn about available options. There is no cost to attend and no obligation to enroll in a plan.

“My goal is simple: I want to help local Medicare beneficiaries understand their current coverage,” Kunz said. “Whether someone is turning 65 and preparing for initial enrollment, reviewing a Medicare Advantage or Part D prescription drug plan, or navigating Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, I will be there to help make the process easier to understand.”

The weekly sessions may include help with: * Current coverage reviews: Reviewing existing coverage, prescription drug needs and potential out-ofpocket costs.

* Turning 65 and initial enrollment: Understanding enrollment periods, important deadlines and the steps involved in signing up for Medicare.

* Medicare and Medicaid questions: Discussing available benefits and coverage considerations for people who may qualify for both programs.

A sign-up sheet is available at the Hospitality House Senior Center for residents who would like to reserve a specific time. Walk-in availability may vary. Attendees are encouraged to bring their current plan documents, medication list and any questions they would like to discuss.

For questions or for those unable to attend during Tuesday hours, contact Kaley Kunz at 509-818-1902, [email protected] or InsuranceHelp- Inc.com.

Educational information is not a substitute for official Medicare guidance. Plan availability and eligibility vary by individual and location.

The Hospitality House Senior Center is located at 216 S. Washington Ave., Newport.
