A-POLICE REPORTS 9-23GF EDITOR’S NOTE: The police reports, taken from dispatch logs provided to The Miner by law enforcement agencies, are not intended to be an exact report, but rather a comprehensive list of police calls in Pend Oreille and West Bonner counties. Dispatch also fields calls for the Kalispel Tribe’s property in Airway Heights.
Certain police calls are generally omitted because of space constraints. These include, but aren’t limited to ambulance calls for illness, unfounded alarms, traffic stops, dogs at large, abandoned vehicles, 911 hang–ups and civil standbys. All dispositions for the police reports are assumed to be active, assists or transfers at press time.

COLLISION: N. State Ave. & W. Pine St., Newport, report of Kenworth truck versus SUV, unknown injuries, one vehicle still in roadway; notice of infraction issued.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: Dads Lane, Newport, report of sewer covers removed with tool next to it and bird feeders broken.

VIOLATION OF ORDER: Buck Creek Rd., Newport, report that complainant had order with neighbor, and he just flipped her off; she had it on video.

PHYSICAL DV: Newport, report that complainant believed daughter was being strangled by boyfriend.

FISH & GAME: Boundary Dam Access Rd., Metaline Falls, report that small black bear had moved into campground and complainant was unable to get it to leave.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: N. Washington Ave., Newport, report of male walking around neighborhood wearing fluorescent vest and carrying stick.
NOISE COMPLAINT: Elmers Loop, Newport, report of alarm going off all day, every few minutes.

NOISE COMPLAINT: Elmers Loop, Newport, report that complainant was told last night by deputy to get recording of alarm going off.
TRAFFIC OFFENSE: N. 2nd Ave. & Houghton St., Ione, report of two pickups, one was hit in side.
ARREST: N. 2nd Ave. & Houghton St., Ione, Devyn Thomas Knott, 27, of Ione was arrested for third-degree driving with license suspended or revoked and knowingly possessing a controlled substance.
VERBAL DV: Newport, report that brother was threatening everyone at property.

ILLEGAL BURNING: LeClerc Rd. S., Newport, report that about 100 feet down Sandy Shores, someone was burning yard debris.
ERRATIC DIVER: Pines Rd., Newport, report of large, full-sized Chevy truck with large tires speeding up and down roadway.
BOOK & RELEASE: S. Garden Ave., Newport, Ronald Alan Riek Jr., 54, of Elk was booked and released for second-degree arson and first-degree reckless burning.
FISH & GAME: Winchester St., Cusick, report of white turkey at Panther Pit chasing customers.
HARSSMENT: Sullivan Creek Rd., Metaline Falls, third-party report of jet skiers harassing people at lake.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: Southshore Diamond Lake, report that vehicle pulled up to neighbor’s house, took something and then walked back to vehicle and started opening item.
THREATENING: N. Washington Ave., Newport, report that daughter left truck parked at house, and male showed up at her workplace in Oldtown and said he was going to blow it up.
