Newport WA. an American small town located on the Idaho border, with beautiful buildings made of wood, some with brick & mortar.
It began as an Idaho town, the post office was moved and turned that around, The town was still Newport but now in Washington where it was crowned.
Stunning mountain views and a river runs through but flows North not South, topography dictates direction, it’s like having the front door in back of the house.
If you are a hunter the wild life is abundant, with deer, elk and bear, there are geese by the thousands, many ducks, and turkeys running everywhere.
Ideal for summer swimming, boating and fishing with miles of water to travel, And in winter there is snowmobiling and skiing and a major resort to unravel.
You can choose from two major grocers, drive 2 blocks to Idaho for cheaper gas, A weekly hometown newspaper that provides all the information you could ask.
There are several historic venues for enjoyment, one as old as the town, One has homemade ice cream, eat at the old fashion shop and hang around.
The other has been here since 1894, second oldest tavern in the state, Great place to meet up with friends for a beer and have a burger or a steak.
The town people are very friendly, the say hello as the look in your eyes, many denominations of churches, a nice Community church no surprise.
Our town is proud of America, you’ll see the giant flag in the town square, Lived in Chicago and Seattle, with the lifestyle of Newport they can’t compare.
