NEWPORT – Pend Oreille County Elections will conduct the county’s official Logic and Accuracy (L&A) test of ballot-counting equipment at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Pend Oreille County Election Office, 625 W. 4th St., Newport.
Logic and Accuracy testing is conducted before every election to ensure the ballot tabulation system is properly programmed and accurately counts votes.
Accessible Voting Units (AVUs) will be tested in advance to ensure each unit accurately prints a voter’s selections. Ballots produced by the AVUs will be included in the official Logic and Accuracy test. Ballots will be mailed to voters in Pend Oreille County Oct. 14–16.
Voters should receive their ballots by Monday, Oct. 19.
