Priest River victorious against Grizzlies

NEWPORT – Priest River scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter for a come from behind win against Newport Friday night. Newport scored a touchdown with a successful extra point in the first quarter of the border battle between the two rivals.

Priest River scored but missed the extra point, with Newport up 7-6 heading into the fourth quarter. After a horse collar call against Newport, Priest River scored a second touchdown in the fourth, with a successful two-point conversion, winning the game 14-7.

Newport travels to Colfax High School Friday, Oct. 2, to play at 7 p.m.

Priest River hosts Orofino Friday, with kickoff also at 7 p.m.
