“Today I found a small group of American Pipits at the Cusick boat dock and a couple miles away, a Sharpshin hawk was ‘perched’ on the county road,” local bird watcher Carol Mack wrote in an email on Sept. 30. “I was able to get within 15 feet of the not-so-shy bird before it flew.”
