Coming up at the Cutter

METALINE FALLS — Concerts, art shows, immersive presentations, game nights — there’s plenty happening at the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls for kids, adults and families alike.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m., a Northwest Passages performance will bring to life communities in the turnof- the-century Pacific Northwest. Set in the early 1900s, Northwest Passages follows Julia, a Swedish immigrant who becomes a nurse and cares for communities across Washington.

Through powerful solo performance and archival film, this multimedia experience explores how different cultures shaped one another and contributed to the region’s evolving identity, revealing untold stories of change and community-building. This event is free.

There’s an Adult Fun Day at the Cutter Theatre scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, noon to 3 p.m. Under the direction of Artscape director Linnea Scheel, there will be activities such as puzzles and crafts, including with yarn, plus food, beverages and door prizes. This is a free event, but donations are welcome.

The Fiber Arts show will be held at the Cutter Saturday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a fiber arts display in the gallery. While not sponsored by the Cutter, the annual Fiber Arts show is an opportunity to learn more about yarns and to see (and purchase) their products. There will be lunch served with the show; lunch cost is $8.

The popular group Paper Flowers returns to the Cutter stage on Saturday evening, Oct. 17. Dinner is $20 at 6 p.m. and the show 7 p.m. for $25 ($30 at the door). This group specializes in Fleetwood Mac music. Make reservations soon, as the dinner is almost sold out.

The annual Fall Festival to celebrate Halloween returns Friday, Oct. 30, with the carnival beginning at 2:30 p.m. to be followed by the annual costume contest for kids and adults at 3:30 p.m. After that, there will be Trunk-or-Treat in front of the Cutter at 4:30 p.m. To participate in the Trunk-or-Treat, participants should have their vehicle ready by 4:15 p.m. Corndogs will be served as part of the festival. This is free and open to all.

November activities include something new: a Mom and Son Game Night Saturday, Nov.

7, 6 p.m. for $20 for a family. This will feature challenges and games for moms and sons together; Why should dads and daughters have all the fun? There will be food and beverages served.

Friday, Nov. 13 is the date for another Adult Fun Day, noon to 3 p.m.

Annual Turkey Bingo is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15. Cost is $5 a card, with games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with Thanksgiving turkeys for blackout prizes.
