NEWPORT — The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition announced Newport-based painter Rebecca Proctor as its 2027 Featured Artist.
Proctor joins the ranks of acclaimed artists who have held this prestigious title at SEWE, Charleston's annual celebration of wildlife art, conservation and the sporting lifestyle, which marks its 45th year in 2027.
A fourth-generation artist, Proctor follows in the footsteps of her mother, renowned Western wildlife and sporting dog artist Julie Jeppsen, who was named SEWE's Featured Artist in 2003. This makes Proctor the event's first second-generation Featured Artist.
Proctor's “The Pursuit” has been selected as the 2027 Featured Painting.
“The Pursuit” will appear on the official SEWE 2027 poster and be auctioned at the SEWE VIP Gala & Sale Thursday, Feb. 11, 2027.
