As to the writer of the letter, “We’re becoming community of machines,” undoubtedly the writer composed the letter using a computer rather than quill and paper. I am confident that the letter was not delivered to the Miner via horseback. The advancement of technology is indeed remarkable. I wonder if they raised these same concerns when Al Gore created the internet!
Regarding data centers, local government agencies may benefit from reviewing the practices implemented in Northern Virginia. Northern Virginia is widely recognized as the global data center capital, hosting more than 600 facilities. Within this region, Loudoun County—commonly referred to as “Data Center Alley”—contains an estimated 250 data centers. The matter is clearly unrelated to politics. Current estimates indicate a maximum of 130 centers within the entire State of Washington. I am not advocating for data centers.
Oh, and the writer need not concern themselves with the prospect of Skynet, an AI system dispatching an assassin to eliminate John Connor’s mother. John Connor will still lead the resistance opposing those machines. With respect to environmental considerations, is this not the same person who previously advocated for the placement of a smelter near of Newport? Just Saying.
