Tidwell-King

MARCH 27,1937 - JANUARY 28, 2025
Patricia Tidwell-King passed away peacefully at her home after a long hospital stay in Cheney, Washington, on January 28, 202 5.
Pat was born in North Hollywood, California, to Leslie and Gladys Bennett on March 27,1937. Tragically, her father was killed in an automobile accident when she was just a year old. At the time, she had four brothers and two sisters. Her mother later remarried Paul Murray, an artist for Walt Disney, and together they had two more children, making theirs a family of nine.
On May 16,1957, Pat married Charles Tidwell, and they raised three children together. In the late 1960s, the family moved to Los Banos, California. In 1979, Charles and Pat relocated to Usk, Washington, where they owned and operated The Outpost Resort on the Pend Oreille River. They shared 25 years of marriage before Charles passed away in 1982.
Pat later married Leroy King on March 18, 1984. The couple lived in the Spokane area and spent many cherished weekends at their property on the Pend Oreille River, enjoying retirement with fishing, boating, and relaxing together.
Pat had a variety of interests. In her younger years, she played baseball and bowled. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, gardening, watching football and baseball, observing wildlife along the river, and, most of all, spending time with her friends and family. A woman of deep faith, Pat lived her life with love, strength, and devotion.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Tidwell; her son, Roy Tidwell; and her second husband, Leroy King. She is survived by her children, Dale (Juliann) Tidwell of California and Donna (Larry) Stone of Washington; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Petranoff of Texas and Peggy Rose of California; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at Hayford Community Church in Spokane, Washington, on April 6, 2025. An interment and graveside service alongside her son Roy will take place at Los Banos Cemetery in Los Banos, California, on May 9,2025, 10:30 a.m.
