Larry “LASH' Hendrickson was born in Puyallup, Washington on June 9, 1931. His 94 years of adventures included fishing, hunting, camping, dirt biking, and driving very, very fast. A drag racer, LASH held the world speed record in 1970 and ‘71 and was inducted into the Kitsap Hall of Fame in 2010.

After serving three years in the Navy, Larry launched his career building custom cars, becoming a sheet metal worker and then HVAC foreman until he retired in 1987.

He married Shirley Rae in 1981. They built several homes, a 53' boat and countless cars together over the next 44 years, still “wrenching” and constructing right up until Larry passed away on July 5. Their family includes surviving children James Standley, Kathy Earl, Lavonne Bergmann and Derek Rae; late sons Kevin Hendrickson and Bryce Rae; and a loyal, four-legged friend named Rebel.
