Beverly Ann Hutchins

Beverly Ann Hutchins
Beverly Ann Hutchins, age 86, went to be with the Lord, peacefully, and surrounded by family on September 17, 2025. Bev was a loving mother, a wife of 45 years to her husband Clint, until his passing, and known for her unwavering faith, kindness, and willingness to help anyone who crossed her path. Beverly was born in Wakefield, KS on January 18th, 1939, to Sanford Fulmer and Loretta Hostetler. She was raised on her family farm in Wakefield, KS.
She has three brothers, Glen Hostetler, Gary Fulmer, Gerald Cline, and one sister, Marilyn Fulmer. Bev moved to Southern California in 1964, where she met her late husband, Clinton Hutchins, Jr.. at a gathering hosted by her brother Gary. Clint and Bev married on March 26,1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and welcomed their only daughter, Sandra Rae Hutchins, on October 10, 1966. Shortly after they got married, they moved to Priest River, ID following Clint’s mother, Rachel, and her husband, Chet Clements.
They settled in Priest River in 1970, where shortly thereafter Bev found her calling and was baptized in the LDS faith. They bought their lifelong home on Freeman Lake Road where they lived the remainder of their lives, except for a short period of time they spent in Montana for work. They called Oldtown, Idaho their home, where they were truly blessed with friends, and family all around them.
Bev lost her beloved husband, Clint, on May 15, 2011, and after his passing she continued to live independently, and worked part-time until March of 202 5 when she was diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoma. She fought a hard battle but was unable to overcome her cancer.
Bev always was a hard and dedicated worker. She started her career as a meat wrapper in California, and she continued this when she moved to Idaho, wrapping meat at Safeway in Newport, WA, working her way up to manager of the meat department. After a couple decades wrapping meat, she wanted a change, and in 1997 she opened Bev’s Home Furnishing’s & More, where she loved buying and selling furniture, but more importantly, she loved talking and sharing life and stories with anyone that stopped into the store. She continued her store until 2010, when she stepped away to care for her husband Clint. After Clint’s passing and a little break, Bev started helping her daughter, Sandy, in the kitchen at the 57 Store, making huckleberry pies, jam, syrup and various other goods from 2019-2024. She loved her time spent with her co-workers Jeanette and Sheila!
The kitchen won’t be the same without her sarcastic comments and her “special” touches she made to all the recipes.
Bev enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Reuben and Rachel and great grandchildren, Clinton and Asher. She had a love for yard sales, thrift shopping, embroidery, bingo and animals (especially her dog Bella and cat Sammy).
Bev enjoyed her many trips back to Kansas to visit her family and spending time with her sister, Marilyn.
Bev was the matriarch of the family and cared for anyone and everyone that came into her life. Her favorite holiday was always Thanksgiving, where every year it was the gathering place for family and friends to spend time together, and share her famous turkey in a bag, mashed potatoes, those famous rolls, and so many other goodies. Gathering and spending time with her family was her true joy.
Bev is survived by her daughter, Sandy Akre (Dean), siblings, Gary Fulmer and Marilyn Basgall, brother-in-law, John Hutchins, sister-in-law, Jennie Monroe, sister-in-law, Naomi Chisam, grandchildren, Reuben Akre (Sydney) and Rachel Simpkins (Alex), great-grandchildren, Clinton and Asher, along with many nieces and nephews.
