Tom grew up in Spokane attending Shadle Park High School. He then attended the University of Washington and graduated with a B.S. in Zoology. Tom went on to Eastern Washington University and obtained his Masters degree in Biology. Still searching for the right career, Tom attended Washington State University to earn a PhD in Animal Science. A career working for a company wasn’t high on his list and he formed his own company to perform aquatic invasive species control. His knowledge and dedication made his business successful for many years.

Like so many others, Tom had his demons and suffered from alcoholism. Tom achieved sobriety about 35 years ago and continued to stay involved with AA.

He helped many, many others in getting sober and being a sponsor.

Tom never married for reasons unknown, although he dated several women over the years. He did not share his private thoughts with others. He lived a very frugal lifestyle. He was always willing to help others. Tom was a good person, kind, a great brother and uncle, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
