Daniel “Dan” Scott Shelgren, a resident of Newport, age 62, passed away peacefully on Nov. 19, 2025. Born on May 22, 1963, Dan lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, and a quiet, noble spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his three children, Tara, Ashley, and Tom. His nine cherished grandchildren, his mother Patrica Gould, and his two brothers Rick and Tom Shelgren, all of whom will carry his memory forward with deep love and gratitude.

Dan was predeceased by his father, Thomas N. Shelgren. Dan was a man of few words but immense presence - strong, stoic, and unwavering in his dedication to the people he loved. He had a deep and enduring love for his wife, his three children, and his nine grandchildren. His family was the heart of his world, and he devoted his life to supporting, protecting, and guiding them with steady hands and a gentle, dependable soul.

Dan loved the open road. Driving and exploring new places brought him peace and a sense of freedom. Whether he had a destination in mind or simply followed wherever the road led, he found joy in the journey itself.

Dan’s life was a testament to quiet strength, loyalty, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered and always honored by those whose lives he touched.
