Trixine Jean Malone passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Sandpoint, Idaho. A memo-rial service will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Her ashes will be scattered in Depoe Bay, Oregon, later this year.
Trixine was born on March 15, 1928, in Jerome, Arizona, to DeLisle and Martha Woolley. Sev-en years later, her sister JoAnn was born, and Trixine was given the honor of choosing her middle name, Shirley, after Shirley Temple. Due to her father's work as a miner, the family moved frequently between Arizona and Northern California, eventually settling in Grass Val-ley, California.
At the age of 14, Trixine met her future husband, "Tex," and after a year of dating, they became engaged and married on July 22, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
After marrying Donald "Tex" Gale Malone, the couple settled in Vallejo, California, but moved throughout Northern California over the years. They had three children and lived in Guam several times while Don worked at the Navy shipyard. It was in Guam that Trixine began her lifelong career in medical transcription.
Once their children were grown, Trixine and Don moved to Idaho in 1982, eventually settling in Priest River. Trixine cherished her years by the river and adored the basset hounds they had over the years. Several years after her husband's passing, Trixine moved to Sandpoint where she enjoyed many great adventures with her family in her later years, including trips to the Oregon Coast, concerts at the Panida, and family gatherings.
January 5 was a poignant day for Trixine to be called home to meet her heavenly father, as it was the same day her husband Don had passed 23 years earlier. Trixine will forever be the family's guardian angel.
She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Walker; her two sons, James (Jaz) Malone and Dennis (Barb) Malone; five grandchildren, Kathy (Eric) Weisz, Jennifer Malone, Amanda (Mark) Cris-man, Mary (Jon) Malone, and Mikale Daniel; thirteen great-grandchildren, CheyAnne Malone, Caleb Crisman, Kyler Lord, Caleb Wright, Raina Wright, Brian Lord, Dylan Lord, Zac Weisz, Tyler Weisz, Brodie Wright, Jimmy Wright, Fiona Crisman, and Abby Crisman; one great-great-grandchild, Evelyn Drumwright; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Patti Malone, her grandson David Flaherty, her granddaughter Audrey Malone and twin great-grandsons Ethan and Evan Malone.
