Maury was born in Watsonville, California on July 31,1946. He attended college on the GI Bill and graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Masters of Fine Arts Degree.

He passed away in his sleep on February 7, 2026. Maury lived life on his own terms. His greatest loves were his family, the outdoors, and traveling. He felt incredibly lucky to have many wonderful friends and to be living in Pend Oreille County for the last 46 years.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Erdman); daughters Noelle and Jenna; sonin- law Leif Sammons; brother Jim and his wife, Susan (Munoz); and sister-in-law Susan Erdman.

To honor Maury’s wishes, there will be no memorial. Donations in Maury’s name can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
