Born October 11th, 1932, to Leeland Becker and Ida (Moore) Becker in Shelton, Washington. Arlene was raised with strong family values and a faith in God that guided her through life. In 1962 Arlene met the Love of her life. Rolland E. Parrish Jr. Just a short 4 months after that they were married and moved to Fife, Washington. Then in the late 60’s moved to Tacoma. Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband (Ron), with whom she shared a deep and lasting bond of 51 years. Also her sister Marion (Kendall) King, and Brother Edward Becker.
Arlene is survived by her sister Olive (Becker) Vincent, Daughter Rebecca (Parrish) Larsen and Son-in-Law Charles Larsen, many Nieces and Nephews, who called her Auntie Leanie, 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, who loved to call her GiGi. They were the light of her life.
Arlene loved the outdoors, Camping, Gardening, Wood working, Leather work, making signs and banners for her Church, but most of all her love for music.
Growing up Arlene was a proud member of her Marching band at Irene S. Reed High School, in Shelton, Washington. Her love for music stayed with her throughout her whole life. In the 50’s she worked as a Meat Wrapper at their local grocery store. In the early 70’s Her Husband Ron and her moved to Tacoma, Washington where they started their family Arlene was blessed by becoming a mother to their only child Rebecca, that she called her little blessing from God.
They then moved in the later 70’s to the small town in Craigmont, Idaho, where she and Ron lived for 45 years.
Arlene lived with unwavering strength, Grace, and Compassion. Always putting others before herself. Offering God’s love and her own freely to all.
Her favorite color was Yellow: reflecting the warmth, light, and joy she brought into the lives of everyone around her. Like that color her presence was bright, comforting, and impossible to forget.
Arlene’s passion in life was to let everyone she encountered know about her loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Though she is no longer with us and no longer in pain, we know she is sitting at the foot of her Loving Savior.
Her faith, her love, and the lessons she taught will continue to guide all who knew her.
Psalms 1:1-2 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
